Our world is full of
metaphor, images, archetypes (primary patterns or types) and movement.
The root of the word metaphor means "a carrying-over."
Metaphors are able to carry
over or transfer meaning between body (soma) and psyche (soul). As such,
a metaphor is able to penetrate the realm of the subtle body.
Metaphors are necessary to
heal the neurosis, made palpable by the split between soma
and psyche. Metaphors carry energy from the bodily felt state to the
psychic state, where it is converted into image.
Use of metaphor is essential
to the activation of the
image, because it allows the image to be felt on a physical level, as
well as experienced on a psychic level.
